NALFO @ RIT
At the end of 2007-2008 academic year a few chapters brought up the idea of creating our own council for the simple fact that many of the things that were done in IFC and CPC didn't relate to us. After a few months of weighing pros and cons we agreed to create our own council, with the help of Jessica Berner and Monica Miranda Smalls.
The first task was to choose which council to create between MGC, LGC, or NALFO. We spoke to a few representatives and checked out the policies that were in place for councils. At the end we decided to go with NALFO, since we were on their expansion list for a council and we also had a small foundation to build on.
After that it was just getting things started, electing an E-Board, getting started on the constitution and Bylaws, making sure we understood the policies that we would need to follow as a council. We also needed to obtain our financial account and get approval for our organizations to be dismissed from CPC and IFC. Lastly, understand our involvement within Greek Council.
In the academic year of 2008-2009 academic year NALFO began. From that year on we have kept growing as a council and taking direction of what NALFO is and will continue to be.
